ARTIST STATEMENT
Throughout my journey to improving my art, I've learned so many things about myself that reflect on my style and how I see my own art and other people's art. What makes my art unique is where I get my inspiration from, since it is heavily artistic it has helped me improve on my art. As an artist, I strive to create art that speaks to me and others about how I view my culture and interests. I draw my inspiration from a lot of sources. Since growing up I was heavily inspired by video games, anime, cartoons, Japanese culture, and the outside world sceneries like forests, beaches, and traveling spots.
This led me to start drawing and following those styles, and the good thing about it is that the community for my inspiration is huge so developing a style or finding people that inspire me to draw was easy. I make art because I want to know more about my style of art and I want others to see the creations I make which relate to how I was inspired, so it could inspire someone else to do the same. Art today as we know it can be anything and with that there are so many different ways to make art, even straying away from my own interests.
All types of art interest me. Seeing a visualization of something someone thought about on a canvas, business card, album cover, song whatever the case may be those styles speak out to me and I wanted to join the fray. Now through my journey, I've drawn comic books, designed logos that have been entered in competitions, drawn video game covers that have been used in games my high school has made, and a whole lot of other things.

My family has been a very big influence on my journey through art, while no one in my family is really artistic they all helped me by showing me art they like or giving me more inspiration to add to my art. My grandmother would always take me to museums and help me with drawings I was working on for classes. She would always give me new sketching pencils and gummy erasers since I was focusing on hand drawings at the time. When I started looking into graphic design there was a small community that I followed that helped me get a little head start into understanding what graphic design is and what it’s about.
Watching them influenced me to think about art in a whole new way, I started thinking about how others draw their inspiration to create art and their styles. While I’m learning about art and improving my drawing skills I was focusing on my style. As I continue this journey to grow as an artist I always keep my influences and inspirations in mind when drawing so I can always refer back to them whenever I need to.
